Personal
OK, here is the short list of some of the things I've done... I'm a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (1973), I've served as an officer in the Navy both as a Naval Flight Officer navigating an A6 (think "Flight of the Intruder") and as a submarine officer, USS Greenling and Lafayette. (Think "Hunt for Red October"). I've been a field engineer, business analyst, software engineer and developer, musician/singer, songwriter, photographer and model maker.
I'm also a husband and father (two teens about ready for college). I'm the quitessential "gadget freak" (Toys R Me!). I am 6'2" tall, have blue eyes and way too much gray hair for my age (I know, at least I HAVE hair).
My home family pets and pleasuresI have been married to my wife, Liz, for 22 years. We have two kids, Jonathan (19) and Jenna (17). And then there is this dog, Ben. He's part Black Lab, part Golden Retriever, part Newfoundland, and part noodle brain. Somewhat big boned at 120 lbs with a big heart. We have two cats, who are both insane. We live on a mountain in Northwest Connecticut.
Liz is a teaching assistant and helps with admin at The Master's School's early childhood center (3s, 4s and Kindergarten).
We're just getting into the college years. Jon is at Grove City College for his freshman year. Wants to be an engineer. His dream job would be to work for one of the big roller coaster manufacturers.
Jenna will be attending Pratt Institute, studying architecture. She's also an excellent musician and vocalist.
I ski a lot, Jon skis, and Jenna got me interested in snow boarding. Just bought a new board. I had a season pass for Six Flags this year for the first time and rode the big coasters with the kids. Incredible. You just gotta ride Superman or Nitro! What a rush.
I like kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, riding horses, sailing, playing guitar, singing, and I'm working on finding enough time to do any of that.
Oh, yeah, I also am a certified train nut. I actually chase them. And if I ever get the time, I'll be one of those guys for whom a house is just something with which to cover the basement, thereby protecting the model railroad empire...
